Pittsburgh 6 [sup] th [/sup] June 1800
Sir,
Your letters of the 30 [sup] th [/sup] Ultimo are this moment
come to hand _ I wish you could spare time to make out & transmitt a
Statement of the several Sums you have remitted to me and of my Drafts
you have Paid as Agent for the late QuarterMaster Gen.l, without such
Statement I am not able to make a compleat settelment with him.
I had Expected that you would have been able to have told me
who had taken charge of the War Department I have had some hopes that
our old friend Henry may have an invitation --
Colo [sup] l [/sup] Strong with a part of the 2 [sup] nd [/sup] Regt. & Capt [sup] n [/sup] Portes Comp [sup]y[/sup]
of Artillery arrived last Evening at the Encampment on the Alleghany
river three Miles from this place where they are to continue until joined
by several partys of Troops coming from Staunton Winchester &c the
whole then to decend the Ohio to some point it is said nere the Mouth
of Kentuckey River --
Receipts for Articles delivered the Pointer & Glazier in 179S being
Voucher of Issue in 3d Quarter of that Year which by inattention had
