Simmons certifies that $32 is due Private William Allen of Captain Lyman's Company 2nd Sub Legion and waiter to Lieutenant Samuel Drake, being his pay from January through August 1796.
Simmons certifies that $56.74 is due Captain Donald G. Mitchell of the Corps of Artillerists and Engineers, being his pay and subsistence for August 1796.
Refers to an order from General Wayne to see to the equipping of the Kentucky volunteers; comments on expenditures & recent bills drawn. An accounting of expenditures is appended.
Notification that Wilkins ordered Gen. Wayne to equip dragoons horses, estimate of cost enclosed along with contingent money for forage and subsistance of the dragoons. Cannot appoint an agent to collect money, so Wikins requests $11,800.00 from McHenry to be picked up by Francis Jones in Detroit. Bills must be small in value.
Acknowledges receipt of a pay roll. Money for the pay will be forwarded by John Chester, federal supervisor in Connecticut. Money for apprehending William Seward is to be placed on credit in Miller's recruiting account. Miller's place in the ranks of officers in the "new arrangement" of regiments.
Simmons certifies that $33.82 is due William Polk, Superintendent of North Carolina, being his commission on receiving and paying sundry sums of money from the War Dept. between April 2, 1794 and February 21, 1795.
Simmons certifies that $104 is due Captain Edward Miller and the men under his command at Middletown, Connecticut, being his and their pay for August 1796.
