Simmons learned James Bruff, Captain, Muster roll of troops stationed at Niagara under Dayton, absented himself from detachment without permission. Simmons requests that Dayton write him immediately regarding the subject.
Treasurer will remit sum of $335.40 to Jackson who will in turn pay Samuel Nicholson of the Frigate Building at Boston upon acquisition of necessary receipts for pay and subsistence.

Swan transmits to McHenry a form letter in which he states that he has drawn a duplicate set of bills on McHenry for the sum of $1,300 in favor of Lt. Charles Hyde for the subsistence of the Army up to September 30th 1797.
The Secretary of War warns that General Wilkinson is worried that the clothing of the troops will not arrive in time for water transportation. Hodgdon should be furnished with the quotas to be packed for the several posts. The clothing for Ensign Boote should be forwarded soon as he is much in need of it.
