There seems to be a mistake in that part of the recent communication respecting Mr. Shelby attending the assembly at Knoxville. Mr. James is currently in Philadelphia doing business with Robert Morris respecting a contract they have regarding lead mines.

William Simmons informs LtCol Campbell that the Accountant's Office has received his papers sent via Lt. Deniston.
Hewley detached from Capt. Littlefields Company at West Point and sent to Ellis Island, therefore his pay was drawn at Ellis Island. Hale appealed to Simmons on behalf of John Webster for documents regarding entitled bounty due the officer who was discharged from Capt. Bradley's Company in Granville. Hale stated, "he has the appearance of a veteran, and has exhibited proof of the wounds which he has received."
Certification that $694.27 is due a detachment of the Corps of Artillerists and Engineers stationed at Mud Island Fort under Major Lewis Tousard, being pay and forage for himself for December 1797, the pay of Lieutenant George Ross, the pay and forage of Surgeon's Mate John Lynch, and the pay of the non-commissioned officers and privates for November and December 1797.
Certification that $72 is due Lieutenant Peter Dransy of the Corps of Artillerists and Engineers, being for bounties paid and premiums allowed him for re-enlisting four soldiers in the service of the United States.
Certification that $77.15 is due Edward Carrington, Supervisor of Richmond Virginia, being the amount due him for commissions receiving and paying monies from the War Office
Wilkins admits to his neglect in not having the power of attorney acknowledged. He is obliged to Hodgdon for his attention in the passage of his account through his office.
