Certification that $159.84 is due Private John Frank of the 2nd Sub Legion, being his pay from August 19, 1794, the time he was captured by Indians, to January 20, 1798, agreeable to an Act of Congress passed January 20, 1798.

Document Gist 07/10/1798 as follows: The addition to the pay of Capt. Andrew Marschalk shall be made as soon as his name appears on the appropriate payroll provided he does not refund the balance beforehand.
Received letter requesting articles, supplies, and furniture for Capt. Nicholson's ship. Due to regulations, no other ship was allowed additional furniture or requested items, therefore Capt. Nicholson's request was denied and McHenry advised that Jackson only provide items approved by gov't.
Statement of articles purchased by Captain Nicholson as cabin furniture for his ship. General Henry Jackson naval agent at Boston informed that no other articles can be allowed by public to the commissioned officers; any more must be provided at own expense.
Jackson is directed to provide the listed articles of cabin furniture for Captain Nicholson. McHenry notes that no other furniture can be provided by the public to Commissioned Officers on board ships of war than what is absolutely necessary to their immediate accomodation. Any other articles must be provided at their own expense.
Enclosed is the account for the repair of arms including the cleaning of 460 carbines. Cranch apologizes for not sending the gun stocks before the river froze. He wants to know the price of the stocks delivered. In 1793 he was charged twenty cents which is three cents more than stocks of equal goodness made of plank purchased in Philadelphia. If the charge is too high, his profit will be eliminated.
An account is being forwarded to Hodgdon for $544.45 which, after paying ten dollars to Samuel Meredith, Treasurer of the United States, should be forwarded to the Supervisor of New York. Cranch wants to be informed when the money is lodged with Colonel Fish and requires a Treasurer's receipt for the ten dollars.
