Enclosed are the receipts for bounties of two dollars given to each of two recruits and a duplicate of Elijah Kenyon's receipt for two dollars heretofore transmitted.

Correspondence on Military Matters and Artillery Officers

President Adams addresses McHenry on some "very unpleasant information" coming from Benjamin Brooks, one of the majors of a new artillerist corps. Adams appoints his personal friend James Lovell as captain of artillery in the place of a Captain Mitchell.

Forwarding the Arms, Accoutrements, & Clothing

Hodgdon informs Capt. Read that his arms, accoutrements, and clothing are being forwarded to him by Peter Hunt of Trenton.

Transporting the Packages

Hunt is asked to transport the packages by water if possible and by horse wagons if necessary.

Colors for General Washington, Etc.

Mr. Rutter has supplied one of the colors for General Washington but the other is known by Mr. Bleakley who is out of town. Reports indicate that six have been admitted to the hospital and six are dead.
