Even though Stevens' responsibilities don't measure up to those of the storekeeper at Philadelphia, he will receive compensation in the amount of $1250 per annum. His duties will include procuring materials for fortifications, paying workmen and laborers, and other duties connected therewith.

Ebenezer Stevens was asked to procure woolen overalls for the troops in the harbor of New York and at West Point. However, he was informed by Simmons that supplying overalls was not credited to his account. Stevens should be informed of the course he should pursue to settle this matter.
