Melancton Smith procured sleighs for stowage. Smith separated one of the hogsheads into two pieces, both properly labeled. Major Rivardi noticed mislabeled casks for troops at Oswego. The clothing arrived at both posts safely.
Reports new supply of bell tents for the army for the first time. No true sense of dimensions yet. Requests information about British bell tents. Also seeks information about material and the amount of arms the tents are to house.
Seeks suitable supply of musket cartridges under care of Col. Stevens. Reports debt to the state when troops marched under Captain Henry. For payment, recommends sending box of musket balls. Suggests that Stevens's men put them together at Fort Jay. These guns will be called for when the army takes the field.
