Philadelhia 23d December 1796
Dear Sir
I have just received your letter of the
16th instant with the Packet that accompanied it. I
am Sorry to say it does not come p to my request
and therefore cannot endure my purpose. How
I and know from [undecipherable] you return were
received? as to when delivered or how consumed
The Names of the persons from whom stores are received
and of those to whom they are delivered, and the
answer of consumption of any not [undecipherable]
receipted for, has been frequently maintained as
the only documents on which 8undecipherable] proceed. The
disposition of Names in the Return inproper, but
in that particular only den[undecipherbale9 differ from those
before rejectes as not equal to the system now
persuing_ The Return including Stores received,
delivered and consumed from April 1795 to April
96 was such as is required, and sch only as will be
of any use_ A similar Return to be made ot and
transmitted entrains the time from 1st April 1796
