Supply of Ordnance and Medical Departments

Military stores left at Bedford by militia retrieved by wagons and brought to Pittsburgh, invoice of stores enclosed. Some clothing destroyed by moths. Noted officers of Ordnance and Medical Departments did not make proper requests for articles wanted and are now in dire need of supplies, offers supplies at Pittsburgh to supplement those lacking.

Pittsburg 4th September 1793
Sir,
I have received your letter of the 29th Ultimo.
In consequence of information given me by Mr. Hodgdon of a quantity of Military Stores having been left at Bedford by the Militia Army, I sent Waggons & have had them transported to this Post; an Invoice of the articles received is enclosed herewith a part of which you will observe consist of cloathing viz Overalls & Trousers of various colours a part of which unmade and a number of them much damaged by Moths & I apprehend by being in a damp place.
There is now on hand at this Post four hundred & eighty round Jackets & four hundred & twelve pairs of Trousers & Overalls of various colours, & none of them such as can be applied as uniform Cloathing for the Troops now in service. I take the liberty of suggesting to you that these articles being naturally subject to damage by Moths, I have to request to know whether they are to be disposed of or not.
The Quarter Master General by his letter of the 3rd Ultimo informs me a Treaty with all the Western Indians was concluded on that day. He

He also informs me that all the Stores sent forward by me had arrived in excellent order but he says that he apprehends that the heads of the Ordnance & Medical Departments have neglected to make the necessary requisitions for articles wanted in their respective Departments in proper season therefore are badly supplied. I mention this because there is a considerable quantity of Ordnance Stores on hand at this Post & also a few articles of Hospital Stores & medicine that perhaps might be spared.
Col Rochefontaine informs me that he is going on with the fortifications as well as possible with the number of hands he has employed.
