Simmons certifies that $1646.63 is due Samuel Hodgdon, Superintendent of Military Stores, being the balance of his account for sundry expenditures in the Military Stores Department at Philadelphia from July through December 1796.
Certification that $25.65 is due Brigadier General James Wilkinson for subsisting soldiers Robert Beane, John Luckner, George Gardner, and Jonas Orders from December 1796 through January 1797.
Keteltas submits Ebenezer Wood's claim for money due him for serving the American War. Among his claims are request for compensation for his horse, fulfillment of a bounty, and proportion of captured booty.
Encloses a statement on the cash expended for the construction of the Constellation frigate. Sterett also announces, with pleasure, that the unfinished business that Captain Thomas Truxtun left is completed.
Eaton would have already forwarded the enclosed vouchers were it not for the need to include his charges against Lieutenant Colonel Gaither which are addressed to the Commander in Chief. He called on the late commissioner for negotiating a treaty with the Creeks at Coleraine but he had no recollection other than having left Coleraine before the remnant of supplies were disposed of.
Malbone has received a letter from Col. Henry Sherburne of Rhode island who notes that soldiers of his late regiment have applied to him for their bounty lands. Malbone is asked to inquire of the War Office whether any such have received warrants and if so, what are the names and by whom are they empowered.
Simmons certifies that $210 is due John Nicholson for inspecting swords, muskets, and the parts of muskets, bayonets, and pistols and examining arms to be repaired and inspecting them when repaired by the armourers at New London and Springfield from Sept. 10, 1795 to Feb. 15, 1797.
Request to forward sheathing copper and sheathing nails from the shipyard at Boston to ship yard at Portsmouth New Hampshire, consigned to Captain Thomas Thompson, superintendent. Also requests a statement of all items purchased for frigate at Boston and where items deposited.
