Captain Henry DeButts is charged on Simmons' books with $500 received for contingent expenses of the War Department but DeButts claims that he rendered the necessary vouchers to Hodgdon for the expenditures thereof. Hodgdon, therefore, should confirm the settlement so that Simmons can update his books.

The Secretary of War has directed the storekeeper to deliver to Captain Elliott a brass three-pounder and apparatus for field exercises. Another three-pounder should be put in order for service.
Perkins has decided to discharge nine of the hands employed in the parts of the business that are drawing to a close unless more stockers can be found. They have been given notice that they will need to provide for themselves after the first of the month. George Metts plans to go to Philadelphia to see friends but he will be missed because he is one of the stockers needed to complete the business.
Swan has drawn a set of bills on McHenry in favor of Abraham and John McHume for $2,200 on account of the pay of the Army for November and December 1796 being in place of Meeker and Cochran's bill for $4900 in Swan's favor.
