Informs Captain Rickard of the results of Simmons' examination of his vouchers and receipt rolls. Mentions a soldier who enlisted but deserted before he could be mustered. Sends muster rolls requiring certification.
Advises Fish that he will receive money from the Treasurer of the U. S. that he is to transfer to George Fleming, military storekeeper at West Point, for the pay of a detachment stationed at West Point "for the service of the Ordnance Department."
Acknowledges receipt of receipt roll that, after the specified corrections, will be credited on the books of the War Department accountants office. List soldiers who did not give receipts for pay.
Certification that $38.19 is due a detachment of the US 1st Regiment at West Point for the service of the Ordnance Department, being their pay for April and May 1797.

Harris is asked to deliver to Mr. Francis, the Purveyor, fifty brass mounted muskets and bayonets for the Algerian supply. He is to pay twelve dollars for each stand.
Harris is directed to deliver for public use twelve stand of arms with cartouche boxes and twelve rounds of ammunition per musket to Captain Bright, Commander of the Revenue Cutter, "Virginia."
Enclosed statement of Hale's recruiting account. Hale also returned account of Mrs. Nichols against Lieut. Cudworth. Due to the triffling nature of the dividend from the account Hale deferred it.
