Fox informed Truxtun he had permission from Sec. of War to construct supporters for a ship in Baltimore. Suggested a worker of Mr. Rush's for assistance in cutting the pieces.
Reports that the Indians of the Northwest appear to desire remaining at peace with the U.S. Also reports on the progress of the commissioners running the boundary line between U.S. and Cherokee land, and informs of the recent movements of U.S. troops on the western frontier, particularly in Tennessee.
The Secretary of War has directed that arrangements must be made for furnishing supplies for the recruiting party stationed at Windsor in Vermont. Brush is to obtain a contract for the acquisition of provisions, Quartermaster's articles, and medical assistance. Proposals for contracts have been solicited by advertisements.
Enclosed are the muster and payroll for the recruits at Ellis Island. Marschalk has also included himself for June and July but, since he has received pay in advance, he inquires whether he should forward the payment or place the amount to his credit. To receive the money would be a source of great convenience.
