Notification that cannons, fish, and other supplies will be sent to Pittsburgh shortly. Sec of War uncertain of the longevity of his post, will only deal with present duties and demands.
Wilson's accounts as Paymaster to the Recruits under Major Jonathan Cass differ from his statements and thus he is owed $48 which has been aid to Lieutenant Samuel Lane.
Simmons received Gilmor's letter of October 29th with accompanying accounts regarding expenditures for the fortifications of Baltimore. The Secretary of War issued a warrant of $2000 which will be transmitted to Gilmor by the Secretary of the Treasury.
Certification of payment; $225 to Major Thomas H. Cushing, 1st United States Regiment for traveling expenses for himself and servant from Fort Adams, on the Mississippi, to City of Washington, ordered there by Brigadier General Wilkinson.
Truman Mosely has submitted a claim for $252.14, and Simmons requests that Dexter examine Mosely's accounts and determine what part of that amount is to be awarded to him.
The Auditor of the Treasury transmitted Craft's accounts to Simmons and noted that the accounts and vouchers Crafts provided indicated that they were made on account of the War Department by the Collector of the port of Charleston. Simmons states that there is no evidence that these expenditures were made on account of the War Department, and therefore are given back to Crafts for investigation and, if the accounts are indeed accurate, payment.

Return of medicine wanted for the hospital at Fort Mifflin. Postscript by William MacRae indicates doctors' approval. Postscript by Samuel Hodgdon indicates that the Secretary of War approves.
The Treasurer of the United States is remitting $70 to Carrington for the payment of Jesse Bowles for rent of a hospital between November 1798 and October 1799 in Richmond.
Edward Carrington will pay Bowles $70 upon Bowles providing the necessary receipts. The money is for rent of a hospital for the sick in Captain Eddin's company from November 1798 to October 1799 while in Richmond.
Simmons received Shute's letter of October 16th. Simmons states that Shute apparently misunderstands the reason for why his pay was halted. He improperly drew pay for forage from the contractor, even though the paymaster was authorized to lawfully issue pay.
Dr. Newman will receive $86.74 as remuneration for attending to and administering medicine to Captain Bird and Captain Gaither's Recruits in Salisbury, North Carolina from May 16th 1799 to August 1800.

Simmons received Harrison's letter of October 23rd, which contained accounts and vouchers of the late purveyor, amounting to $6783.14, which has been filed for examination.

Captain Samuel Henly, Conductor of Military Stores, has asked for an advance which Carrington has granted so he now has a draft on Hodgdon that will be transmitted to Samuel Meredith.
