The Secretary of the Treasury has informed McHenry that the ship "Washington," helmed by Captain Williams, has arrived in Philadelphia. It has on board one hundred cases containing stands of arms shipped by the John & Francis Baring & Sons Company by direction of Mr. King for the use of the United States. Harris is asked to receive said arms and have them deposited in the public stores.
Joseph Webb, now in prison, claims that several vessels on the Charles were taken for government use and he never received anything for them or their charter. Wadswworth asks Simmons to send him copies of Webb's accounts and vouchers so this matter can be resolved.
Josiah Fox informs William Simmons that according to files from Office of Intendent of Naval and Military Stores, Issac Garretson commenced service as clerk of ship yard Baltimore on June 1795 to May 1798. Rate of pay $750 per year.
