Despite his efforts, Bedinger has been unable to locate the arms and stores claimed by the State of Maryland. Without Major Langham's assistance he cannot differentiate between Maryland's articles and those belonging to the United States. Major Langham is expected soon so the matter should be resolved upon his return.
McHenry requests that DaCosta examine the nine pound cannon on the ship of war Delaware, commanded by Stephen Decatur, and prove the ones which are suitable for service. He should submit a report on the examination and proof to McHenry as soon as possible.

Enclosed are returns for: iron 18-pounder cannon and carriages, iron ship four-pounders, and chests of French stands of arms forwarded by order of the Secretary of War. Enclosed also are Captain Lee's receipts for these articles. Fleming will set off the next day on the sloop carrying these articles for New York where the powder will be proved.
