Certification that $78.33 is due the estate of John Murray, late a private in Captain Nicholas Hannah's company of levies, being the balance of pay due him up to November 4, 1791, the day of his death.
Certification that $41.06 is due John M. Scott, late Surgeon of the Army of the United States, for his expenses transporting public money from Philadelphia to the Headquarters of the Army in July 1793.
Certification that $107.63 is due a detachment of recruits stationed at Fort Johnston [North Carolina] being their pay for April 1798, which sum is to be transmitted to Griffith McRea, [McRee] Collector at Wilmington.
McHenry explains that the Act of Congress of 30 May 1794 makes no distinctions between the pay of adjutants and paymasters. Any officer of a battalion of artillery who does either of those duties is entitled to the same pay as an officer doing the same duties for a regiment.
